https://redditrecs.com/

ooooo another cool website popping out: https://redditrecs.com/ it scraps reddit threads, cleans them, and summarizes product recommendations; honestly, a really good usecase, and it’s currently free! monetization is through affiliate marketing—makes sense!

https://themeasureofaplan.com/wealth-map/ is a cool visualization/data tool about differences in (iirc) cost-of-living, mean income (well, gross national income % country population), and purchasing power. not sure if the income calculation is the best way to do so as it includes income that isn’t wage-related, so doesn’t paint the best picture of what the average joe is earning. like with all data, take it with a grain of salt and thoughtfulness.

it is put together by just a regular joe, so not sure how long data will be updated for or functionality will remain. found it when looking into where im at (london) and trying to understand how people can afford to live here. it seems so so expensive for the relative salary/income that i assumed was average. did some research and still confused. seems like the people out and about are likely wealthy already, tourists (thus less cost-considerate), or treating themselves. could be wrong.

found these AI photo booths—the Ghibli AI filters + Suno artificial music physically made me gag 🤮 just so devoid of character imo

https://www.littlewargame.com/play/ is a dope free html5 rts game

really scratches the SC2 itch in-between work/study sessions :D

www.app.traveltime.com is a dope tool to check reachable areas via given time of day / mode of transportation. using it right now to see what areas are reachable to work w/in 30 min!

www.hoodmaps.com is another really cool map, but it’s instead crowdsourced and vibe-based where people tag areas w/ stereotypes and local knowledge like “tech bros,” “warzone,” “run and don’t look back,” “smart college students,” etc. it’s more of like a social/cultural snapshot of how ppl percieve different neighborhoods.

www.opportunityatlas.org is a pretty cool website to look at how neighborhoods shape economic mobility/life outcomes. really interactive maps & full of research/data. honestly, pretty cool website to gauge where to move to and where certain demographics are living within a city/county.
